Barry S. Crane is Of Counsel to Becker’s Business Services Group, Bankruptcy Department, and Litigation Department where he largely works to provide strategic business and legal advice to the firm’s staffing, real estate, healthcare, construction, manufacturing, retail and wholesale warehousing and distribution, asset-management, and transportation clients related to mergers, acquisitions, sales, and other commercial transactions, as well as all manners of disputes in those practice areas across New York and New Jersey. As a skilled negotiator and litigator, Mr. Crane separately co-manages Becker’s practices in the fields of commercial debt collection, foreign-judgment domestication, and landlord-tenancy. Mr. Crane is also experienced in resolving Employer Shared Responsibility Payment disputes with the Internal Revenue Service and in litigating unemployment insurance payment disputes.
In March 2022, Mr. Crane was named by Thomson Reuters SuperLawyers as one of its Rising Stars, a selection applying to attorneys in New Jersey 40 years old or younger and an honor reserved for only 2.5% of attorneys in New Jersey.
Mr. Crane joined Becker as an Associate in May 2018, before which he worked at a general-practice law firm in Monmouth County, where he maintained a diverse caseload of litigation matters, and simultaneously, a heavy day-to-day transactional practice centric on real estate, liquor licensing, commercial transfers and acquisitions. Immediately prior, Mr. Crane also served as the Judicial Law Clerk for the Presiding Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court’s Special Civil Part in Monmouth County, before whom all of Monmouth County’s special civil, small claims, and landlord-tenant claims were filed and adjudicated.
